FlamePro wins place on NFCC PPE Framework to provide life-saving kit to fire services

We’re proud to announce that FlamePro has been awarded a place on the National Firefighter PPE Framework, overseen by the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC).

This is a significant milestone for our business and a powerful recognition of our position as a UK leader in the manufacture and supply of clothing that keeps firefighters safe as they respond to critical incidents.

The framework also creates a major opportunity for us to supply PPE to all 49 fire and rescue services across the UK.

We’ve been named on six lots within the framework, covering both our structural firefighter and lightweight firefighting PPE.

Our full-service approach and commitment to excellence in customer support was key to being selected on the framework.

Our structural firefighter kit is strong yet lightweight, providing crews with maximum protection while also ensuring comfort and fit.

Our lightweight firefighting PPE range is suitable for fire crews carrying out complex, lengthy search and rescue missions, as well as responding to road traffic accidents.

Through the framework, fire services can either purchase PPE or choose a fully managed service for the term of the contract. This option sees us take responsibility for the cleaning and maintenance of clothing as well – we’ve teamed up with workwear laundry provider CLEAN to offer fire services a hassle-free, swift and efficient kit maintenance experience.

A key factor in our selection was our development of FlamePro Central, the UK’s most comprehensive asset management app of its kind. The platform enables fire services and other customers to track every individual piece of clothing and equipment.

Each item of kit is fitted with a built-in Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chip, giving fire services real-time visibility of its location. For example, when kit is sent for cleaning, users receive notifications when individual garments are in transit, at the cleaning facility, and on their way back.

Fire services can also use the app to check kit back into the station after a callout, reducing the risk of items being lost or misplaced. It also provides a complete record of how many times each piece of kit has been cleaned, allowing services to accurately identify when an item has reached the end of its operational life.

By removing time-consuming manual processes, FlamePro Central delivers significant efficiencies for fire services using our PPE.

The National Firefighter PPE Framework will run for eight years, and we’re delighted to have been selected for all six lots we tendered for.

The framework award also opens up exciting export potential for our business. With the UK widely regarded as the gold standard in technical firefighter kit, being named on the framework sends a clear message to customers internationally that FlamePro is a trusted and admired company in the PPE sector.
